Speaking of Making with Sarah Hobbs: Artist Talk and Walkthrough for Volumes Project Residency

  • Bentley Rare Book Museum, Kennesaw State University, Sturgis Library Ground Floor 385 Cobb Avenue Kennesaw, GA, 30144 United States (map)

We are excited by the prospect of working with Bentley Rare Book Museum, the first collection of its kind in metro Atlanta, to establish a Project Residency at AIR Serenbe. This Project Residency, titled Volumes, is part of a larger AIR Serenbe initiative that pairs contemporary artists of all disciplines with collections in the region. This dynamic partnership will invest in contemporary artists, writers, and performers to create new workinspired by the Bentley’s collection. In this new initiative, we will grant artists unparalleled access to rare books and manuscripts, while investing in new ways of interpreting the collection and reaching new audiences.

In 2018, Atlanta-based photographer Sarah Hobbs will spend an extended amount of time diving into the archives and collections of the Bentley Rare Book Museum at Kennesaw State University.

Come listen to Sarah speak about her project and her experience working in marginalia!
