Brutal Studio are 2017's recipients of the Jogger 5K Focus Fellowship, awarded to an artist of any discipline with work featured on the Jogger 5K course route.
IN RESIDENCE March 31 - April 30, 2017
Brutal Studio is an all-lady- run design and build studio with principal artists
Danielle Brutto, Sara Santamaria, and Allie Bashuk. Brutal Studio launched in
June of 2016 and specializes in experiential events and installations, with an ever-evolving collective of talented makers and experimental thinkers.
Last year, Edgar Allan collaborated with Monday Night Brewing to create Jogger, a 5K featuring art from signature Atlanta artists along its West Midtown route. Participants not only got some exercise, a little culture, and some awesome swag (like a commemorative beer glass Monday Night filled with brew at the finish), they also got to vote for their favorite artist: EA partnered with AIR Serenbe to award a Focus Fellowship to the winner, a one-month residency inside the creative community that included a cash stipend of $1,500.
Edgar Allan combines Brand Strategy, Responsive Web Design, & Brand Journalism to help companies better communicate with humans who love them. They do it through the lens of story to help customers find their part in yours.
ABOUT FOCUS FELLOWSHIPS
AIR Serenbe supports artists of every discipline through our Focus Fellowship awards, nominated annually by our National Advisory Council—esteemed peers and experts in the field. Focus Fellowships provide the opportunity for individuals, corporations, and other organizations to directly support artists and their influence on building healthy, creative communities. Funders of these awards have the chance to name the fellowship and to work closely with AIR Serenbe to determine what kind of artists (discipline, geography, demographic, subject) the fellowship will serve.
